Sims Metal Contract Driver Involved in Collision on Chesapeake Expressway

– Highway accident resulted in one fatality –

CHESAPEAKE, VaSims Metal, a global leader in metal recycling, issued the following statement regarding a collision on Route 64 at Route 664 in Chesapeake, Va.

We are deeply saddened to report that a serious accident occurred on Route 64 in Chesapeake, Va. on Friday, March 10th at approximately 11:25 am, resulting in the death of one of our contract drivers. Initial reports from the scene indicated that the driver of the other vehicle was unharmed. We extend our sincere condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of our deceased colleague. We are currently working with our Environment, Health & Safety team and local law enforcement as they investigate the circumstances that led to this tragic event.
