The visit provided an opportunity to share more about Sims Metal’s operations and discuss local community engagement opportunities.
Sims Metal recently welcomed Jersey City Mayor James Solomon to its Claremont facility for a site tour and overview of the company’s local operations.
During the visit, Mayor Solomon met with Scott Miller, General Counsel, Sims Metal, Rocco Lanagna, Regional Operations Manager, and members of the Sims Metal Government and Community Relations team, including Tasha Hogan and James Pryor. The tour provided an opportunity to share more about the work taking place at the facility and Sims Metal’s role in the local community.
The group also discussed Jersey City’s youth employment program and the potential role local businesses can play in creating employment opportunities for young people.
Engaging directly with local leaders is an important part of building strong community relationships and creating greater understanding of Sims Metal’s operations.
Sims Metal appreciates the opportunity to welcome Mayor Solomon to the site and continue the conversation around community partnership in Jersey City.
