At Sims Metal Management, we treat industrial hygiene with the same level of respect that safety, the environment and the community receive – that it is our highest value. That is why we are constantly training and instilling in our personnel how to ensure that we meet this goal. Whether it is inspecting and controlling dust, conducting noise surveys or designing ventilation equipment.

As part of this commitment, we have implemented a process called “Design for SHEC” – approaching every piece of machinery, equipment or other construction/installation project with a philosophy that keeps safety and health best practices front and center. We believe if we design it right in the first place, we can assure safety from the very start. Now that’s putting safety first!
