Quality & Laboratory Excellence
To support it’s commitment to quality, Sims Metal Management Aerospace operates a comprehensive laboratory for ensuring quality control. This laboratory operates a wide variety of specialized equipment, including such sophisticated devices as wavelength and energy, dispersive X-ray spectrometers, optical emission spectrometers, gas analyzers and an inductively coupled plasma spectrometer. Tens of thousands of samplings are preformed each year. The Quality Control Department, using these laboratory facilities, carries out inspections of outgoing material quality. All its work is documented and provides aerospace-level traceability.
