BLUE CART RECYCLING

Sims Metal Management - Municipal Recycling

Sims Municipal Recycling is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sims Metal Management, the largest scrap metal and electronics recycling company in the world.  We have a long history of recycling in Chicago.  We have operated metal recycling operations in Chicago and the greater metropolitan area for more than 60 years.  Our global financial and administration headquarters are located on North LaSalle Street.  Our electronics recycling division, Sims Recycling Solutions, operates two large electronic waste recycling plants and its American Head Office in the Chicagoland area.

Since 2003, Sims Municipal Recycling has been managing curbside recyclables for the City of New York, which operates the largest curbside recycling program in the nation.  In 2011, SMR was awarded a contract to provide curbside recycling services for one district of Chicago.  As professional recyclers and members of the Chicago community, we are excited to work with residents, community groups, elected officials and City agencies to build a successful Chicago recycling program.
