Management Trainee Program

Through our program, we create customized rotational plans and combine them with formal structured training and “hands on” learning experiences for all our trainees. 

The program ranges from 18 – 36 months and provides our trainees with rotational opportunities through every area of our business.  Our focus also is to provide and cultivate leadership skills.  During the final part of the program, trainees are placed in supervisory positions to gain real world experience and exposure. 

The components of the program include:

  • Structured training
  • Formal and informal interactions with senior staff
  • Challenging rotational assignments
  • Networking across all functions and regions
  • Coaching, mentoring and feedback

Our management trainees represent employees who are excited about their future and ours.  They are focused on career progression and open to promotion and relocation.   The Cadet/Management Trainee Program is a great program to obtain a broad view of the company while developing personal skills and interests.   In addition, trainees are assigned exciting, challenging projects that will stretch their capabilities and allow them to work with some of the most talented, knowledgeable functional experts in the industry. 

The Sims Metal Management Trainee Program is highly structured and, at the completion of each rotation, trainees will complete formal projects and receive feedback on their performance.  Trainees will work with functional experts and senior leaders to gain inspiring perspectives on the direction we need to move to shape our business in the future.
